Menopause
The peri/menopause can impact us on so many levels and it's often very tricky to unpick what is exactly going on. It can be a total mind, body and spirit change for a great deal of women.
From a psychological perspective the menopause often coincides with big life events; children leaving home, milestone birthdays, aging and death of parents or just existential anxiety and crisis as to what our role is and worth in the world. Recent research has suggested we are at our most potent in the workplace in our late 40's and 50's yet many women report feeling lost, unworthy and out of touch due to loss in confidence and leave their positions. Against this background our bodies as women are going through enormous change and the physical side of peri/menopause, flushing, night sweats, mood fluctuations, sleep disturbance, brain fog, reduced libido, problems with concentration and anxiety can be overwhelming.

Through working with Dr Clare Spencer and The Menopause Centre I have offered support to women of all ages who are experiencing the sometimes debilitating side effects of early perimenopause and menopause. It can start much earlier than a great deal of women realise. I have worked with women with crippling anxiety who felt shamed and unable to communicate how they felt and over time and through a deep understanding of anxiety and how it interacts with menopause have supported them to feel ok again.
